Performance Reviews and Appraisals
By whatever name, this two day training program will be of benefit to anyone who has to evaluate employee performance and provide feedback on their assessment; or for those who are considering implementing a performance review process, or improving on your current system.

Upon completion participants will...

  • Identify reasons for and against doing Performance Reviews.
  • Identify factors that may affect employee performance and how to use the benefits of the 'Pygmalion Effect'.
  • Identify the seven stages in the Performance Appraisal cycle.
  • Using a simple format to develop clear job descriptions and expectations.
  • Explore the value of good orientation and training and assess how this is currently attended to in their organization.
  • Develop an understanding of meaningful 'behavioral descriptions' and be able to describe what good work performance looks like.
  • Explore the dos and don'ts for effective Performance Review interviews.
  • Review the 10 1 open question format that can be used in all performance review interviews.
  • Using all this information, practice at least one performance review interview and receive feedback.

This workshop will actively involve participants in the learning process through a variety of structural exercises, video presentations, small group and large group discussion simulations and brief lectures.  If you have to do performance reviews and want to make them a more positive and valuable experience for everyone, this training is a must.
